Purpose of the General Section

The General module provides a centralized location to define commonly used reference data, including:

  • Age groups
  • Ethnicity (race) categories
  • Gender options

These values are used throughout the application wherever demographic information is captured or displayed.

How General Data Is Used

The data configured in this section is used across multiple areas of the system, including:

  • Student records
  • User profiles (Preceptors, Clerkship Directors, Admins)
  • Patient logs and clinical data
  • Reporting and analytics

This ensures consistency in how demographic data is collected and reported.

Key Configuration Areas

Important Notes

  • These values are shared across all modules, so changes will have a system-wide impact
  • It is recommended to configure these settings early during system setup
